In most cases, you can simply patch it onto a dark or murky audio track and it will get you where you want with a slight twist of the knob. OneKnob Brighter is about as simple as it gets. The affected frequency shifts upwards as you go up the dial. The lowest part of the knob affects frequencies around 3kHz. The range in which the signal is boosted actually changes as you turn the control.
